Delays, Moving, Apartment, & Condo update

The condo won't be ready as promised on December 20, 2013. We've been told our new closing date is January 30, 2014. So that pretty much put us in a tailspin for about a week. We looked at all of our options. We considered walking away from the condo and purchasing something else that would meet our deadlines. We gathered information about additional expenses we would incur because of the delay. Basically, we'll end up in some sort of temp housing with all of our house in storage. I found us a very nice apartment in Hopkinton. It's about 2 miles from the High School, so the commute is great for Nick. It's a one bedroom with a den. Everything is brand new. We decided to rough it. No beds, we're using memory foam toppers on the floor. We purchased cheap furniture from IKEA instead of moving our good furniture. It'll work for the short term we plan on being here.

We were able to move the closing date of Fiske Pond up a week. That saved us a considerable amount of money. And ended up being a good idea because a snow storm hit the area the next week during the days we had planned on moving.

We are in the apartment. Spending the Holidays here isn't the greatest, but we've adjusted and made the best of it.

We've made weekly checks on the progress of the condo. We realize not much work is being done during the holidays. Last Saturday we stopped by and found guys there installing the moulding and trim. The drywall has been sanded and primed too. So progress is being made.
